YWCA programs stay alive

April 28, 2000 By admin Leave a Comment

The final agreements will be signed today getting the Kansas City YWCA out of the child-care business. The YWCA once ran 14 child care centers in the Kansas City area, but has had lingering financial problems. The Y-M-C-A is taking over most of those programs. It already is one of the largest providers of day care in the Kansas City area. The Kansas City YWCA has been financially shaky for a long time. It has considered seeking bankruptcy protection.
