This time, the painting going to the Kemper Museum of Contemporary Art in Kansas City really will be an original by Georgia O’Keefe. It’s being donated by art dealer Gerald Peters of Santa Fe, New Mexico. Peters is the one who thought he had sold five-million dollars worth of O’Keefe paintings to the Kemper last year…but they turned out to be fakes. He’s giving back the money, and is donating the genuine O’Keefe to boot. The painting was done in 19-22. It’s called “Maple and Cedar.”
