Proposed changes in how your local car dealer deals with the car manufacturer clears the House though one state representative harshly criticizes the bill. The bill prohibits car manufacturers from moving dealerships selling the same line of cars into an existing dealership’s territory. It bans, for the most part, factory-owned dealerships. State Representative Carson Ross of Blue Springs tells colleagues five of seven House members serving on an interim committee studying car dealerships voted against the bill. Ross says while others opposed have said they will hold their noses and vote “yes” he won’t. Ross loses a lopsided battle. The House sends the bill to the Senate on a 121-13 vote.
