Kansas City Cab Company Ordered to Park Fleet

April 20, 2000 By admin Leave a Comment

Kansas City’s biggest taxi company has been ordered by the state to shut down. Metropolitan Transportation Services has been cited it for 330 violations of state regulations. Metropolitan uses minivans. The state considers vehicles capable of hauling six passengers to be under state regulation, not under local taxicab ordinances. Most of the violations alleged by the state focus on licensing. Metropolitan continues to operate, however. It has stopped running minivans. A court hearing is scheduled for Friday.
