Another St. Louis Hospital Closes

April 20, 2000 By admin Leave a Comment

A hospital that’s almost a century old is being closed in St. Louis because of lack of business. It’s the third hospital to close in the St. Louis area this year. Compton Heights Hospital has 336 beds. On an average day, it has only 68 patients. For most of its 96-year history, the place was known as Incarnate Word Hospital. The same company that owns Compton Heights also owns St. Louis University Hospital, three blocks away.
