The president of the St.Louis Symphony Orchestra, the nation’s second oldest symphony has decided he does not want to be president of the nation’s oldest one. Dan Roth has withdrawn his name from consideration with the New York Philharmonic. He reportedly was one of the two finalists for the job. He’s been in St. Louis for about two years.
