Deaths and injuries on major amusement park rides lead to a new effort to make the rides safer. Annual inspections would be made of the rides in the big amusement parks. A special amusement ride safety board would be created. One-million dollars in liability insurance would be required. And “serious incident” would be defined in the law so the state could shut down a ride where something bad happened. The House has approved the proposed amusement park ride safety law. The bill has been put on a fast track in the state Senate.
