Ex-Chiefs charged with drug trafficking

April 15, 2000 By admin Leave a Comment

Retired Kansas City Chiefs football player Bam Morris and two other men are charged with running a marijuana trafficking ring that was financed by now-former Chiefs player Tamarick Vanover. The announcement of the chages against Morris have led the Chiefs to immediately dismiss Vanover from the team. The charges say Morris, along with Warrensburg resident Robert Corey Myers, and Dewayne Calvin Bryant of Dallas, Texas, used 40-thousand dollars provided by Vanover to buy marijuana. Texas authorities say Morris’ arrest here means he has violated his parole for marijujana possession in that state. Authorities there have filed a warrant to have Morris returned to Texas and jailed.
