The business manager of the Teamster Union faces multiple charges for an incident at a grocery store in Monett. Municipal charges against union business manager Jim Kabell say he loaded a shopping cart with various goods then walked out of a the store, where other union members had been passing out leaflets urging a shoppers’ boycott. A store spokesman says about 30-dollars worth of items were too damaged to be put back on shelves. The teamsters are urging boycotts of stores served by Associated Wholesale Grocers of Springfield, which used to provide warehouse and transportation services for the wholesaler before it outsourced those jobs.
