Springfield bar ads bring trouble

April 13, 2000 By admin Leave a Comment

A Springfield bar could face state sanctions because of advertising it put on the back of pamphlets passed out by competitors for student government positions at Southwest Missouri State University. The state liquor control department is looking into it. The pamphlets contained an ad from Jordan Creek Bar’s buy-one-get-one-free promotion. A spokesman for the state tells the Springfield News-Leader it’s illegal to have coupons that can be redeemed for alcohol, and it’s illegal to advertise the buy-one-get-one-free program.
