Jump on the Royals’ bandwagon now! The Royals are just a half game out first place. How long will this last? Who knows? Who cares? They are definitely fun to watch. They don’t have the pitching to stay in the race all season, but they do have enough pop to win a bunch of 7-6 or 10-9 games. Already this season they have come from six runs down to win twice, they have hit back to back to back home runs, and the last three days, they homered in their final at-bat to win. Now that’s fun! The Royals really do have promise. The lineup is going to be potent for years to come, with good young hitters like Carlos Beltran, Mike Sweeney and Mark Quinn. The pitching needs help, but if young arms like Blake Stein and Chad Durbin can become consistent starters, they may only be two pitchers away. Unfortunately, those two are a top ace starter, and a closer. But if they get close to contention, new owner David Glass may just be willing to pony up the bucks. So jump on the bandwagon now, while there’s still plenty of room.
