Thanks to the kids, the Blues lead their best of seven series with San Jose, one game to none, after a 5-3 win over the Sharks. Rookie Jochen Hecht, who is 22, scored twice for the Blues, and added an assist. Marty Reasoner and Lubos Bartecko, both 23, and veteran Chris Pronger also scored for St. Louis. The Blues outshot San Jose 37-31, which is more shots than the Blues usually permit. Roman Turek made 28 saves. Game two is Saturday afternoon at Kiel Center.
