The Mississippi River is back on the list of the nation’s ten most endangered rivers. The group American Rivers lists the Missouri River as the second-most endangered river, behind only the Snake River in Washington State. American Rivers leaves the Missouri number two because of what it says is a refusal by the Corps of Engineers to alter its dam operations to benefit wildlife. The Mississippi is 8th because of new construction proposals for navigation endanger it.
