Martinsville the Pits for Wallace

April 10, 2000 By admin Leave a Comment

St. Louisan Rusty Wallace dominated the NASCAR event in Martinsville, Virginia Sunday, but a late pit stop left him with a 10th place finish, and made a winner of Mark Martin. Wallace led 343 laps, but with 64 laps to go, chose to pit for new tires under a caution flag. Most of the leaders went with him, but Martin stayed out, took the lead, and led the rest of the way. Another St. Louisan, Ken Schrader, finished 13th.
