Attitudes about drinking on college campuses have been changing over the past decade…the “Animal House” atmosphere that once pervaded many campuses is no longer tolerated. One of the people responsible for the change in attitude at the University of Missouri-Columbia is Kim Dude, director of the Alcohol and Drug Abuse Prevention Team. Dude says the university has been aggressively working to reduce alcohol abuse by students, though she says the good news is most of the students on the Columbia campus are making good choices. She says the university is working with the community to change attitudes about student drinking..both on campus and off campus..by providing alternatives to drugs and alcohol.
