Outdoor Burning Not Recommended

April 8, 2000 By admin Leave a Comment

State officials are concerned that Missourians who plan to do some spring cleaning outdoors this weekend might burn their yard or garden waste. Conservation department spokesman Bruce Palmer says conditions are still too dry to burn outdoors…he’s urging Missourians to wait until the state gets some significant rain. A number of brush fires that broke out earlier this week are still smoldering, and Palmer says this could be a long weekend for firefighters and those helping them. Some of the fires were caused by careless burning, though Palmer says several were set intentionally.
