Easter egg hunt cancelled in Strafford

April 7, 2000 By admin Leave a Comment

The friction between the teamsters union and Associated Wholesale Grocers is costing some kids their annual easter egg hunt in Strafford. The committee that normally hosts the event has called it off because of fears adults in attendance would not be able to get along. Strafford is just east of Springfield. It’s the home of several people who work with Associated or with the teamsters. The union and Associated have been at loggerheads since the company announced it would contract for warehouse and delivery services with an outside, non-union, firm. The teamsters say they’ll hold their own egg hunt in Strafford on the 15th.
