Randa Homers Twice, Royals Get 1st Win

April 6, 2000 By admin Leave a Comment

After watching the Blue Jays drive balls out of the park to beat them twice, the Royals played a little long ball of their own. Joe Randa belted a pair of solo homers, and Mike Sweeney added a solo shot of his own, as the Royals got their first win of the year, beating the Jays 4-3. Randa also drove in a run with a bases loaded walk. Jose Rosado pitched six innings for the win. Jose Santiago added two innings of scoreless relief, and Ricky Bottalico earned his first save. Rookie Chad Durbin will make his first major league start this afternoon, when the Royals go for a split of the four game series in Toronto.
