Truant parents charged in Jackson County

April 5, 2000 By admin Leave a Comment

Eleven parents have been indicted by a Jackson County grand jury on charges of letting their kids skip school. It’s the first time Jackson County has enforced a law passed in 19-63 allowing misdemeanor charges to be filed against parents who don’t make sure their children attend class. The parents could wind up spending 15 days in jail and paying fines of 500-dollars.
