A state representative files for re-election, hoping to mount a legal challenge to legislative term limits.Representative Rita Days of St. Louis made a trip to the Secretary of State’s office on the last day of candidate filing. That’s not unusual for a lawmaker, except term limits prevents Days, who won a special election seven years ago, from serving again. Days plans to file a lawsuit once the Secretary of State refuses to certify her for the ballot. She believes confusion surrounded the vote for term limits and adds, if nothing else, her legal challenge will spark a dialogue about term limits.Days wants term limits overturned. She says if constituents believe their lawmaker is doing a good job, they should be allowed to return them to the State Capitol.
