Murder suspect wants to cut a deal to avoid execution

April 4, 2000 By admin Leave a Comment

The suspect in five Kansas City murders wants to cut a deal that will save him from execution. Lawyers for Gary Beach say he’ll plead guilty and take a life-without-parole prison term if prosecutors throw out their plans to seek the death penalty. The prosecutor says he still wants Beach to be executed. He says most family members of the people Beach is accused of killing support execution. He says he’ll meet with them later to talk about this offer.
