Blues Beat Sens, Close in on Title

April 3, 2000 By admin Leave a Comment

The Blues got two goals from Scott Young and beat Ottawa 4-1 Sunday. The win keeps the Blues three points ahead of Detroit, which also won Sunday. On Saturday, the Blues and Wings skated to a scoreless tie. The Blues have just three games remaining, and need to earn two points to clinch the Presidents Cup, which is awarded to the team with the best overall record. The Blues have never won the President’s Cup. They could clinch it with a win at home against Calgary Wednesday. Regardless of which team finishes first, barring upsets, the Wings and Blues will meet in the second round of the playoffs.
