An Eldon man will spend ten years in federal prison for owning a sawed off shotgun. Prosecutors say Hansel Cain tossed the gun from his car during a police chase in 1998. Highway patrol troopers tried to stop Cain for speeding and reckless driving through Eldon in August of ’98 and he threw the gun out of his car during the pursuit. Cain’s federal sentence will run consecutive to a five year state prison sentence he received for possession of controlled substances in Cole County.
