CPA Sentenced For Tax Evasion

A former Columbia CPA has been sentenced to eight months in federal prison for tax evasion. US Attorney Steve Hill says Richard Gene Stringham collected some 97-thousand dollars in employers’ taxes for several clients but failed to file those taxes or file returns with the IRS. Stringham is no longer a certified public accountant. He’ll spend six months in home detention after his eight month sentence ends.
