Suppan Looks Good in Final Tuneup

March 30, 2000 By admin Leave a Comment

Jeff Suppan appears ready to go. Suppan, who will start on opening day, shutout Tampa Bay over six innings in his final tuneup. The Royals beat the Devil Rays 5-3. Newcomer David McCarty continues to impress. He hit a home run, as did Joe Randa. It was Randa’s 6th of the spring. The Royals waived pitcher Tyler Green. They were hoping he would win the fifth starter spot. Instead, it appears the Royals will go with younger pitchers. Looks like Rookie Chad Durbin will end up in the rotation. The Royals are playing the Cleveland Indians today.
