Bonds for road and bridge building advance in Senate

March 30, 2000 By admin Leave a Comment

The state senate has advanced a two-billion dollar bond issue for road and bridge building. The money would be parcelled out during a four-year period, assuming the transportation department is able to get legislative approval of the list of projects it wants to spend the money for. Senator Jim Mathewson of Sedalia calls it a jump-start for the highway program. The bill still needs final approval before it can go to the house…which passed its version of the bond package earlier.
