A state appeals court has thrown out the 1.2-million dollar judgment won by a man who claimed he’d been sexually abused by a St. Louis priest. The St. Louis archidiocese had appealed the original judgment. The man, Henry Bachmann of Port Wentworth Georgia, had claimed the memories of being sodomized by a priest in 19-64 had been suppressed until a comment from his boss made him recall the incidents. Bachmann says he was 13 at the time. But the appeals court says Bachmann waited too long to file his suit–that the statute of limitations had run out. Bachmann previously reached a 25-thousand-dollar out of court settlement with the priest.
