An Indian tribe will have to have approval from the Governor of Missouri before it sets up a casino in southwest Missouri.. The Department of the Interior sides with Attorney General Jay Nixon, who’s been trying to keep the Modoc tribe from putting a casino on land in Newton county. The department has approved the Modocs’ taking the land into a tribal trust.
