Rosado Roughed Up by Tigers

March 28, 2000 By admin Leave a Comment

Royals ace Jose Rosado, making just his second start of the spring because of a hamstring problem, was pounded by Detroit in a 15-7 loss. Rosado allowed six runs, seven hits and three walks in three innings. The good news is, Rosado says his hamstring felt fine. Tony Muser was leaning towards starting Mac Suzuki in the home opener, but he was ripped yesterday as well. Suzuki allowed six runs, seven hits, and three walks in just three innings. Closer Ricky Bottalico didn’t look good either. He allowed two runs and four hits in the 9th, including a home run. Offensively, first baseman Dave McCarty, acquired over the weekend from Oakland, had two hits and drove in three runs for Kansas City. Catcher Sal Fasano is on the trading block, and played all nine innings for visiting scouts. He had two hits and drove in a run. The Royals will cut several players from the roster today. They play Houston today.
