A St. Charles County nursing home employee is charged with abusing a patient. The patient later died. The nursing home staff and the home’s management company also are charged with failing to report the abuse. A medical examination of the body of 78 year old Marshall Rhodes refutes the nursing home’s claim that he was injured in a fall from his bed. The prosecutor says the grand jury was called to subpoena employees of the home after they had refused to talk to police investigators.
