Darryl Kile will start opening day for the Cardinals. Kile will make his Cardinal debut at Busch Stadium against the Cubs on Monday afternoon. Kile has earned the start by going 3-0 this spring. He has allowed just three earned runs in 20 innings this spring. He will make his final spring start today against Florida. Andy Benes was a candidate to start the opener, but he has a tight shoulder. Benes says he will not pitch again this spring. He hopes to start the fourth game of the season.The Cards and Expos played to a 3-3 tie yesterday. Today the Cards face Florida.
