Royals Mostly Healthy

March 27, 2000 By admin Leave a Comment

Three Royals will likely start the year on the disabled list. Blake Stein should resume throwing soon, after suffering a cracked bone in his forearm. Pitcher Orber Moreno has inflammation in his right elbow, and outfielder Todd Dunwoody is recovering from a badly sprained ankle. The Royals have changed their plans on who will back up Mike Sweeney at first base. The Royals cut Paul Sorrento over the weekend, and picked up David McCarty from Oakland in exchange for cash. McCarty hit .293 with 16 RBI this spring. The Royals split a pair of game sunday, beating Toronto 7-3, and losing to Houston 11-10.
