The National Alzheimer’s Association says an estimated seven million Americans will have Alzheimer’s within the next 25 years, a growth rate of 100-percent. Jan McGillick with the association’s St. Louis chapter says 160-thousand of those people will be Missourians. She says the national association is asking Congress to appropriate an additional 100-million dollars for Alzheimer’s research at the National Institutes of Health. She says a solid research infrastructure is in place–the missing ingredient is money.
