University of Missouri President Manuel Pacheco defends his decision to rehire three retiring school administrators under a program that will let them earn significantly more than they’re earning now. Pacheco tells curators the rehirings are proper because they’re taking lesser positions with different duties. All three have been top assistants to the chancellor in St. Louis. The state auditor is investigating. One thing auditor Claire McCaskill wants to know is if they really are going to be doing different work.
