Royals Bats Sizzling

March 21, 2000 By admin Leave a Comment

The Royals continue to hit. Kansas City banged out 17 hits to raise their team average to .317, drilling Detroit 9-4. Joe Randa had three hits, including a pair of doubles, and Carlos Beltran had three more hits and a home run. Starter Brett Laxton, trying to nail down a spot in the rotation, struggled a bit. He threw 70 pitches in just 3 and 2/3 innings, walking five. Closer Ricky Bottalico worked a perfect inning, but the Royals made two more errors, giving them 32 in 21 games. Jose Rosado will pitch Thursday, his first outing since straining a hamstring March 12.
