A state representative tells colleagues they needn’t seek extra money where it can’t be found. Representative Ken Legan of Halfway gets disgusted during budget debate, especially by a plan to take money from the unclaimed property fund in the state Lottery. Legan argues that money is designated to be rolled back into the Lottery prize fund and should not be considered available. Despite the warning, representatives tapped the fund to divert more money into an early childhood reading program. The House has completed work on the $17 Billion dollar state budget and sent it to the Senate.
