The State Supreme Court upholds a death penalty in a Camden County murder case. The state supreme court sets June 23rd as the execution date for Danny R. Wolfe. It’s unlikely to happen, then. Wolfe has federal appeals to go through. Wolfe was conficted of killing a couple during a robbery at their Greenview home. A woman he had picked up in a Lake Ozark bar was with him at the time. Wolfe threatened to kill her if she said anything. The woman eventually told her boyfriend, who related the story to police. She was given immunity from prosecution in return for her testimony. But a strong dissent comes from associate judge Mike Wolfe, who says the trial court withheld some critical evidence about the woman’s credibility, thus denying Wolfe a fair trial.
