Jackson County law enforcement officers say there are not enough of them to serve the six-thousand criminal warrants that have gone unserved. The announcement comes as Jackson County residents get ready to vote next month on a quarter-cent sales tax for law enforcement. About 17 percent of the proceeds would be used to hire more deputies and improve the county’s emergency telephone call system.
