Missourians who hate to be disturbed by telemarketers calling them at home at all hours of the day might get some relief from the General Assembly. The state senate has passed a bill to help protect Missourians from unwanted telemarketing calls. Sponsor Jerry Howard of Dexter says the bill would allow citizens to have their names placed on a do not call list. The Attorney General’s office will maintain the do not call list. Howard says the bill also expands restructions against questionable telemarketing techniques. The measure must still be approved by the House and signed by the governor to become law.
