Southwest Missouri State begins its run in the NIT tonight at home against Southern Methodist. Bears coach Barry Hinson says it’s not easy for his team to focus on playing this game after getting snubbed by the NCAA. The Bears were stunned when the NCAA selection committee took ten teams with lower RPI’s than SMS. Southern Methodist is 21-8, and beat SMS in Springfield earlier this year by ten points. The Bears turned the ball over 23 times in that game.
