LSU Edges SEMO

March 16, 2000 By admin Leave a Comment

In its first ever NCAA tournament game, Southeast Missouri State came ohh, so close. SEMO and Louisiana State were within three point of one another throughout the second half, but LSU’s Brian Beshara hit a three-pointer with 17 seconds left to give LSU a 64-61 win. Roderick Johnson scooped up a loose ball in the final seconds and threw up a three pointer from straight away that bounced on the front of the rim and off the backboard before falling away. Johnson finished with 19 points and 11 rebounds for the Indians. LSU advances, SEMO goes home after nearly knocking off the 4th seeded Tigers. The Indians finish the season 24-7.
