New Keeper Rules for Paddlefish

March 14, 2000 By admin Leave a Comment

Paddlefish season starts tomorrow under some new rules from the conservation department. “Keepers” will have to be bigger this year. The new rules require any paddlefish that is less than 34 inches long to be thrown back. The measurement is from the eye to the tail fork. Most paddlefishing is done at Table Rock Lake, Truman Lake, and the Lake of the Ozarks. This year it will be illegal to snag a paddlefish below Bagnell Dam at the Lake of the Ozarks. And at all lakes, there’s a two-fish limit per day.
