The Francis Howell school district in St. Charles County, in deep financial trouble, is going to eliminate 162 full time teachers before the start of class next fall. The district faces a deficit of almost 12-million dollars. More than three million dollars of that debt is owed the state because the district over-counted its student numbers. That led the state to give it more state aid than it was entitled to.
