Mizzou is in. The Tigers will play North Carolina in the first round of the NCAA Tournament. The Tigers are the 9th seed in the South regional. They will play the Tar Heels in Birmingham, Alabama on Friday at 6:55 pm. If the Tigers win that game, they would face top seed Stanford Sunday. North Carolina, one of the greatest programs in college basketball, has not had a typical year. The Tar Heels are 18-13, and like Mizzou, waited anxiously Sunday to find out if they were in the field of 64. The Tigers are 18-12 after being eliminated by Oklahoma in overtime in the Big 12 quarterfinals. Missouri’s RPI ranking of 37, and the fact that all 12 losses were to teams that made the NCAA tournament, were enough to get the Tigers a bid.
