Lady Bears Get Bid, Auburn

March 13, 2000 By admin Leave a Comment

The Lady Bears of Southwest Missouri State got an at-large bid to the women’s NCAA tournament after losing in the conference title game Saturday. SMS will travel to State College, Pennsylvania to play Auburn Friday. The Lady Bears are seeded 10th, while Auburn is 7th. The winner would probably have to play 2nd seeded Penn State on its home floor. SMS lost the conference title game to Drake on Saturday, as Jackie Stiles scored 30 points, but couldn’t get two three point attempts to fall at the end. Stiles scored 56 points in a semi-final win on Friday. SMS is 23-8, Auburn is 21-7.
