Jackie Stiles of Southwest Missouri State has been named the Missouri Valley’s most valuable player for the second straight year. Stiles, a junior, is leading the nation in scoring at 27 points a game. She is just the second player to win the award twice. Stiles leads Southwest Missouri State into the Missouri Valley women’s tournament tonight in Springfield. SMS is seeded third in the tourney after stumbling to the finish with two straight losses. While the Lady Bears have the advantage of playing on their home court, top seed Drake won at SMS this year, and has won two previous conference tournaments in Springfield. SMS is 21-7, and faces 12-14 Creighton in the first round at 8:30 tonight.
