SMS Falls to Creighton in Title Game

Southwest Missouri State now must wait and see. SMS missed a chance to wrap up an automatic bid to the NCAA tournament losing the Missouri Valley title game to Creighton, 57-45. Creighton drilled nine three pointers and SMS could not rally from a 17 point deficit. Now the Bears must wait. Coach Barry Hinson believes his team has earned an at-large berth. Supposedly the selection committee likes a team that finishes strong. SMS won ten in a row before losing last night. And they look at the RPI, where SMS is 31st, a very good number. The Bears will learn their fate Sunday.
