More than eight thousand people stood in icy water this week to be among the first people to catch a trout. Missouri trout season officially began Wednesday, and Kevin Richards of the state conservation department says the nice weather seemed to make up for the fact that opening day fell on a Wednesday. With forecasters calling for sunny skies and highs in the sixties this weekend, Richards expects at least as many anglers to fish for trout at the state’s four trout parks as made it out on opening day. Trout season runs through October.
