Rams set to play Patriots in London

The St. Louis Rams and the St. Louis Convention and Visitors Commission will finalize an agreement to their current lease that let the Rams play home games in London in each of the next three seasons.  The Rams are scheduled to play New England on Oct. 28 at Wembley Stadium. The CVC pressed the Rams on the issue since the terms of the lease prohibit the Rams from playing home games anywhere but at the dome. It appears a compromise has been reached.

St. Louis CVC sends dome proposal to the Rams

The first step in keeping the Rams football team in Missouri started with the St. Louis Convention and Visitor’s Bureau presenting their plan to upgrade the dome and make it a top-tier venue in the NFL.

The proposal is estimated to cost $124 million and the CVC is asking the Rams to cover more than 50% of the costs. The improvements include the following:

Fisher adds three key pieces to his coaching staff

Rams head coach Jeff Fisher added three key pieces to his coaching staff, announcing Brian Schotteheimer as his offensive coordinator and Gregg Williams as his defensive coordinator, a native of Excelsior Springs, on Monday. Fisher will also add Independence, Missouri native David McGinnis as his assistant head coach. McGinnis worked seven seasons with Fisher at Tennessee. McGinnis was also a one time assistant as Missouri for three seasons.

Rams announce Fisher as their head coach (AUDIO)

The St. Louis Rams announced Jeff Fisher as the club’s head coach. Fisher enters his 31st NFL season and becomes the 26th full-time head coach in Rams history. He returns to coaching after a one-year break after following a 16-season stint as the head coach of the Houston Oilers/Tennessee Titans. 

“I deeply appreciate the opportunity that Stan Kroenke has afforded me and I’m privileged to be the new Head Coach of the St. Louis Rams,” Fisher said. “Our commitment is to build a disciplined, competitive football team as soon as possible, with the goal of bringing another championship to St. Louis.” 

Fisher joined the Houston/Tennessee franchise as defensive coordinator in 1994 and was promoted to interim head coach that season. He was given the job permanently in 1995 and remained the franchise’s head coach through 2010.
