Chiefs trade Tank to Panthers, Avery’s MRI negative

Another draft pick from the Herm Edwards’ era in Kansas City is gone. Late Monday, the Chiefs traded three year veteran nose tackle Tank Tyler to the Carolina Panthers in exchange for Carolina’s fifth round pick in next year’s draft.  Tyler started the first two games of the year, but since then has backed up Ron Edwards who has moved into the starting role and has played better and better each week.

Rams denied glory thanks to Torry

Former Rams’ receiver Torry Holt had 101 yards receiving on the day against his former team and Maurice Jones-Drew ran for three scores while gaining 133 yards. In overtime, the Rams came up short losing 23-20 at Jacksonville.

Limbaugh out

Adam Schefter of ESPN.com first reported that that St. Louis Blues’ owner Dave Checketts has pulled Rush Limbaugh from the group that has interest in putting a bid in on the St. Louis Rams.

This news comes just a couple of days after it was reported that Indianapolis owner Robert Irsay would not approve a bid from a group that included Limbaugh. 24 of the league’s 32 owners must approve any sale of an NFL team.

No surprise, Rams 0-5

Brett Favre is all smiles after trouncing the RamsOn a day the Rams wore throw back jerseys from 1999, Brett Favre looked like an old throw back of himself. A day after he turned 40, he threw for 232 yards and touchdown and the Rams got pounded by the Minnesota Vikings 38-10 to fall to 0-5. It was the Rams’ 15th straight loss.
